Desktop Metal Shop System Powder Station — Technical data

The Powder Station is the depowdering and sieving workstation of the Shop System. After drying, the green parts are freed from loose powder using brushes and a hand-held air pick; an integrated recovery system extracts, doses and sieves the powder for the next print job. The product page states a sieving rate of 5 kg per hour. The station weighs 230 kg without powder, measures 1,600 × 1,200 × 700 mm according to the data sheet and needs only a single-phase supply drawing 0.34 kW. A vacuum approved by the manufacturer is also required for operation.

When buying used, check whether the matching vacuum is included, since the station is not ready for use without it. Inspect the sieve insert, seals, glove ports and filters, as well as residues of other powders that can cause problems when changing materials. Since metal powder matters for health and fire safety, cleaning and a documented handover belong in the deal.
