Desktop Metal Shop System Drying Oven — Technical data

The Drying Oven is the curing and crosslinking oven of Desktop Metal's Shop System. After printing, the entire build box goes in: at a target temperature of 165 °C, maximum 200 °C, the liquid binder components evaporate and the binder cures, making the green parts strong enough for depowdering. The unit is designed as a Class A oven, measures 1,100 × 910 × 740 mm and weighs 110 kg without powder. It runs single-phase at 230 V with just under 3 kW. In the process it sits between printer and powder station and is required for a continuous Shop System workflow.

Used, the Drying Oven usually comes as part of a complete Shop System package but is also traded on its own. Check the temperature control and sensors, door seal, fans and contamination from binder residue. Make sure the holder fits the build box size you have. The 230 V connection at 17.5 A needs its own fused circuit.
