Desktop Metal PureSinter Furnace — Technical data
The PureSinter Furnace is a vertical vacuum sintering furnace from Desktop Metal that performs debinding and sintering in one cycle. A hood with twelve heating elements lowers over a 15.8-litre silicon carbide retort; maximum temperature is 1,420 °C, and sintering takes place at partial pressure with argon, nitrogen, forming gas or air. The furnace is not tied to one printer: it processes parts from binder jetting, Bound Metal Deposition, metal injection moulding and press-and-sinter, and according to the manufacturer also titanium. It is air-cooled, so no water connection is needed. Live Sinter for distortion compensation is included.
Used, the PureSinter is mainly worthwhile for operations running several print processes or MIM parts. Important points are the condition of retort and heating elements, the hood seal, the number of cycles run and the exhaust routing for expelled binder. The three-phase supply and gas connection must suit the site. Clarify whether Live Sinter and Live Monitor transfer with the unit and how spare parts can be obtained through Arc Impact.
