Desktop Metal Production System P-50 — Technical data

The P-50 is the series production machine of Desktop Metal's Production System range, designed for high volumes of small to medium metal parts. Eight piezo printheads with 16,384 nozzles print bidirectionally in a single pass over a 440 × 330 × 250 mm print area; the data sheet states up to 12,000 cm³/h. It operates under nitrogen or clean dry air with less than 2 % oxygen and uses standard MIM powders, which keeps material costs down. The smaller P-1 served as the development machine for the same technology. Since the sale of the Desktop Metal assets in 2025 the range has not been actively offered.

A used P-50 weighs more than five tonnes, needs a 60 A three-phase supply, and its value depends heavily on documentation and support. Check the condition and stock of printheads, the camera system and powder loop, inerting and service history, and existing process parameters for your own materials. A depowdering station and an industrial sintering furnace complete the process chain. Without clarified manufacturer support from Arc Impact, operating risk rises considerably.
