Desktop Metal InnoventX — Technical data
The InnoventX is the smallest system in Desktop Metal's X-Series and uses binder jetting with Triple ACT, a multi-stage compaction of the powder bed during recoating. A piezo printhead with 256 nozzles binds powder in a 160 × 65 × 65 mm build box at layer thicknesses of 30 to 200 µm. As an open platform it handles metal, ceramic, sand and composite powders, including 316L, 17-4PH, IN718, tool steels and copper. Typical users are universities, research labs and development departments that test materials and parameters before scaling up to the X25Pro or X160Pro. The machine comes from the former ExOne range.
Used, the InnoventX is a manageable entry into binder jetting, but it also needs curing, a sintering furnace and powder handling. Check the type and condition of the printhead (10, 30 or 80 pL), the recoater and compaction unit, the binder systems included and the service records. Since the brand has belonged to Arc Impact since the 2025 insolvency, clarify service and spare parts supply before buying.
