Delfin DM2 1/2D INERT — Technical data
The DM2 1/2D INERT is the inert variant of the DM2 and, according to Delfin Vacuums, is built for reactive and self-igniting metal dust such as aluminium, titanium and magnesium. Extracted dust is neutralised in a bath of inert liquid; the manufacturer states an efficiency above 95 per cent following third-party testing to EN 17348. The marking II 1/2D Ex h tb IIIC applies to zone 20 inside and zone 21 outside. A 2.2 kW brushless motor on 230 V reaches 430 m³/h. The bath holds 37 litres, and filtration uses a class M star filter of 30,000 cm² and an H14 absolute filter. The wheeled unit weighs 90 kg.
A used DM2 INERT should only change hands empty, cleaned and with disposal records for liquid and sludge. With 37 litres of inerting liquid, ask for the type and supplier of the medium and its safety data sheet. Inspect the container interior, welds and drain for corrosion, and test level monitoring and clogging indicator. The EN 17348 test report and ATEX documents belong with it. Anyone processing titanium or aluminium powder should check the rating plate for the INERT suffix, as the standard version looks the same.
