Creaform MetraSCAN BLACK+ — Technical data

The MetraSCAN BLACK+ is a blue-laser scanner that is positioned not by targets on the part but by the C-Track optical tracker. This allows part and scanner to move during measurement, which makes use on the shop floor easier. With 30 blue laser lines it captures 1.8 million measurements per second. According to the manufacturer, accuracy is 0.035 mm and volumetric accuracy 0.075 mm in a 9.1 m³ measuring volume. Combined with the HandyPROBE probe, the system becomes a portable coordinate measuring machine.

A used MetraSCAN BLACK+ only makes sense with a matching C-Track, so the tracker's generation and condition need checking as much as the scanner itself. The system's calibration artefacts, cables, power supplies and the last acceptance report to VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 and ISO 10360 should be available. The manufacturer must transfer the licences for Creaform.OS and the Metrology Suite to the buyer. Check the C-Track stand for stability, inspect the camera glass for scratches and ask about the CreaCare contract and calibration interval.
