Creaform HandySCAN MAX — Technical data

The HandySCAN MAX was the first version of Creaform's handheld scanner for large parts and has been replaced by the MAX EVO. It works with 38 blue laser lines and integrated photogrammetry and is designed for parts from 1 to 10 m. According to the brochure it reaches 0.150 mm accuracy and a volumetric accuracy of 0.150 mm + 0.020 mm/m, at 0.45 to 1.60 m working distance and 1.22 kg weight. VXelements was the software; the brochure does not mention the display functions of the EVO generation.

Anyone buying a used MAX should clarify whether the VXelements licence is transferable and whether the manufacturer offers an upgrade to Creaform.OS. Without a valid licence the unit is of little use. Calibration plate, a larger number of targets, USB cable and power supply belong with it, and a last inspection report to VDI/VDE 2634 part 3 should be available. Use the rating plate to tell MAX and MAX Elite apart, as both look the same. Check laser windows, camera optics and connectors and ask whether CreaCare is still offered for this generation.
