Carbon M3 Max — Technical data
The M3 Max was announced together with the M3 in January 2022 and shipped from the second half of 2022. A 4K DLP projector exposes roughly twice the area at an unchanged pixel size of 75 µm; according to Carbon the build volume is 307 × 163 × 305 mm. Control, resin heating, accuracy figures and housing dimensions match the M3; at 249 kg it is slightly heavier. The cassette holds 3,200 ml of resin and the build platform measures 360.5 × 221.5 mm. It is intended for larger parts or more parts per print job.
As with all Carbon printers, a used purchase depends on the subscription: without Carbon's commitment to transfer the unit to a new operator and connect it to the cloud, software, updates and service are missing. After that, the condition of the 4K projector, the large cassettes weighing 9.5 kg when full, their windows and the build platforms matter. M3 Max platforms do not fit the Smart Part Washer; parts are removed and cleaned in the wash basket, or a different washer is needed. Ask the seller whether the unit came from an M2 upgrade.
