Bambu Lab A1 — Technical data

The A1 is the open, full-size printer with a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume in Bambu Lab's A series. Unlike the CoreXY models it moves the bed along Y, yet still reaches up to 500 mm/s at 10,000 mm/s² acceleration. An all-metal hot end rated to 300 °C with a quick-swap nozzle, hardened extruder gears, a bed reaching 100 °C, automatic levelling and flow calibration are included. The AMS lite is intended for multi-colour printing; the manufacturer does not recommend ABS, ASA or fibre-filled filaments for this open machine.

With a used A1, check the production date and serial number first: early units were subject to a 2024 recall over the heated bed cable, so find out whether bed and cable have been replaced. As the bed moves constantly, inspect cable routing, bed bearings and belts closely. The quick-swap nozzle makes changes easy, but it should not be seized. Test any AMS lite sold with it separately. The printer must be removed from the seller's Bambu account before you set it up.
