Artec 3D Micro — Technical data
The Artec Micro is an automated desktop scanner for very small parts, introduced by Artec in 2019. The object sits on a moving platform that moves it along calculated paths in front of two cameras; the operator just loads it and presses start. According to reseller figures it achieves up to 0.01 mm accuracy at 0.029 mm resolution, with a maximum object size of 90 × 60 × 60 mm. Typical parts are dental restorations, jewellery, watch and electronics components or small injection-moulded parts. The Micro II followed in 2023 with a larger field of view and higher accuracy.
With a used Micro, the platform mechanics are what matters most: the axes must move smoothly and position repeatably, otherwise accuracy suffers. A test scan of a known calibration artefact shows this quickly. The unit weighs 12 kg and should be shipped in its original packaging. According to Artec, Artec Studio licences cannot be transferred, and re-registering the device to the buyer requires the seller's consent. Since the successor is on the market, also ask about spare parts availability.
