AMT PostPro3D — Technical data
The PostPro3D was AMT's first production system and was already on sale in 2019. It smooths polymer parts using the BLAST process developed at the University of Sheffield, in which solvent vapour condenses on the part surface in a controlled way. The chamber measures roughly 600 × 400 × 400 mm, and AMT quoted 90 to 120 minutes per cycle. Listed materials were nylon 6, 11 and 12, ULTEM, PMMA, TPU and TPE from powder bed, MJF, HSS and FDM printing. Besides the main unit weighing about one tonne, the installation includes a separate chiller and an extraction unit. Since 2021 the much more compact SF range has replaced it.
A used PostPro3D consists of three assemblies that should be handed over complete and matched. Check the refrigeration circuit, extraction filters, pumps and chamber seals, as solvent residues attack elastomers. Ask for operating hours, maintenance records, safety data sheets and the recipes used. As AMT no longer offers the platform, clarify in advance whether consumables, spare parts and control software are still available. Installation and solvent storage require extraction and explosion protection.
