AMT PostPro SFX — Technical data

The PostPro SFX is the benchtop unit from AMT (Additive Manufacturing Technologies, Sheffield) for chemical vapour smoothing of 3D printed polymer parts. In a process chamber of 190 × 320 × 190 mm, roughly 11.5 litres, solvent vapour condenses on the parts, briefly softens the rough surface and seals it. A cycle takes about two hours. The unit is aimed mainly at PA11, PA12 and TPU from SLS, MJF and HSS; polypropylene requires a dedicated consumable. It weighs around 82 kg and runs from a standard 230 V socket. At the end of 2025 AMT announced the SF2X with twice the chamber volume as its successor.

With a used SFX the solvent circuit is the main focus: check door seal, heater, condensation and filters, and ask for service records. Find out which consumable was last used, whether opened containers are included and whether the safety data sheet is available. It also matters whether AMT will continue to supply consumables and software updates after a change of owner. Plan ventilation and fire protection for the solvent at the installation site.
