AM Solutions S3 Duo — Technical data

The S3 Duo is AM Solutions' large blasting cell for metal and polymer parts up to 1,000 × 1,000 × 1,000 mm. An industrial robot handles the movement, so residual powder and support structures can be removed selectively from specific surfaces, and surfaces can be pre-finished and finished. It is built for wet blasting with a closed water circuit, and a dry version is available on request. A turntable with up to 100 revolutions per minute and one or two nozzles complement the robot, whose repeatability Rösler states as below 0.08 mm. Programming is from the CAD file or by playback. Heavy parts can be inserted by crane through the L-shaped door.

A used S3 Duo calls for a careful inspection. Robot controller, operating hours and maintenance records of the robot are just as important as the condition of nozzles, turntable and cabinet lining. Existing programmes are tied to the previous owner's parts and must be recreated. Clarify whether the wet or dry version is offered and which media treatment is included. Rösler does not publish weight or connection values for compressed air and water; these belong in the documentation.
