3D Systems ZPrinter 350 — Technical data
The ZPrinter 350 is a monochrome powder-binder printer from Z Corporation, which became part of 3D Systems in 2012. It spreads a plaster-based composite powder in layers 0.089 to 0.102 mm thin and bonds it with liquid binder from a cartridge, printing at 300 × 450 dpi. The build volume measures 203 × 254 × 203 mm, and vertical build speed is 20 mm per hour. Powder filling and recovery of loose powder are automatic, and an integrated chamber is used to blow parts clean. Launched in 2009 with zp150 powder, it served for concept and architectural models; 3D Systems later continued the format as the ProJet 360.
Used, the ZPrinter 350 is cheap but old. The printhead is a wear part, so clarify beforehand whether replacement heads and matching binder can still be obtained. Check the nozzle pattern, service station, powder feed, extraction and filters, and that the build piston moves freely. Powder absorbs moisture and clumps, so it is better not to buy opened containers. Operation requires a PC with working control software, compressed air for depowdering and a place for cyanoacrylate infiltration.
