3D Systems Viper si2 — Technical data

The Viper si2 is a compact 3D Systems SLA machine for particularly fine parts. A 100 mW Nd:YVO₄ solid-state laser works in two modes: standard mode with a 0.25 mm beam over the full 250 × 250 × 250 mm build envelope, and high-resolution mode with a 0.075 mm beam on a 125 × 125 mm footprint. Typical applications are small parts, micro components, jewellery and dental models and casting patterns. The exchangeable vat holds around 32 litres, and parts up to 9.1 kg are possible. Control runs on Buildstation 5.3 under Windows NT. The Viper si2 is discontinued.

At 463 kg and with a simple single-phase supply, the Viper si2 is easier to accommodate than the large SLA machines, but it needs a room at 23 ± 3 °C and a UPS of at least 2 kVA. Before buying, check laser power and hours (original warranty 7,500 h), calibration of both beam modes, the condition of the Zephyr recoater and the resin. Spare parts and service are only available to a limited extent; control PC and software should come complete.
