3D Systems sPro 230 — Technical data

The sPro 230 is the largest system in 3D Systems' sPro line. It shares the 550 × 550 mm footprint of the sPro 140 but offers 750 mm of height and thus 227 litres of build volume. A 70 W CO₂ laser scanning at 10 m/s achieves 3.0 litres per hour according to the data sheet; powder is blended and recycled automatically. Typical parts are long or tall components in DuraForm PA, GF, EX or HST, such as air ducts, panels or large series batches. The system is discontinued.

At over 2.5 t, 2.74 m tall and with a 17 kVA three-phase 208 V supply, a used sPro 230 is an infrastructure project: check ceiling height, access route, floor load and power first. The long heating and cooling times of large jobs make the heater condition particularly important, along with laser hours, roller and scanner. Whether manufacturer service is still available should be settled before deciding to buy.
