3D Systems SLA 7000 — Technical data

Around the year 2000 the SLA 7000 was the fastest 3D Systems stereolithography machine. Its Nd:YVO₄ solid-state laser with at least 825 mW at the vat works with two beam diameters, a fine one for contours and a wide one for fills. According to 3D Systems it was on average three times faster than the next fastest in-house system. The build envelope is 500 × 500 × 600 mm, layers go down to 0.0254 mm, and the recommended drawing speed reaches 13.3 m/s. Applications were prototypes, investment casting patterns, rapid tooling and short runs. The 3D Lightyear software ran under Windows NT. The machine has long been discontinued.

With a used SLA 7000 almost everything depends on the laser: power measured at the vat, operating hours and whether a replacement laser can be sourced. Then comes the condition of the dual-spot optics, recoater and elevator, plus age and quantity of the resin. The 20 A single-phase supply at 200–240 V is manageable; weight and dimensions, however, are not documented and should be requested from the seller before planning transport and installation.
