3D Systems Sinterstation HiQ HS — Technical data
The Sinterstation HiQ HS, called HiQ+HS in the data sheet, is the high-speed variant of the HiQ. It replaces the HiQ's laser and beam delivery with a 100 W CO₂ laser and Celerity optics, doubling the maximum scan speed to 10 m/s; with DuraForm, the manufacturer quotes up to 1.8 times faster vertical build speed. Build volume (381 × 330 × 457 mm), thermal system and materials – DuraForm PA and GF, CastForm PS, Somos 201, LaserForm – match the HiQ. 3D Systems still listed both systems in 2008; today the HS is discontinued.
The HS is the choice when the machine is fully utilised and build jobs need to get shorter. Check the rating plate and measured laser power to confirm that the HS equipment is actually fitted. The stronger laser and the Celerity optics are expensive assemblies, so have laser hours, output power and mirror condition documented. As with all Sinterstations, spare parts, service and the old controls are the real risks; clarify powder supply and parameters before buying.
