3D Systems ProJet 260C — Technical data

The ProJet 260C is the colour version of the ProJet 160 from the 3D Systems x60 series. In addition to the clear HP11 head for the binder it has a tricolour HP57 head and can reproduce 64 different colours – intended for colour-coded concept models, architecture and teaching rather than photorealistic full colour. Build volume (185 × 236 × 127 mm), layer thickness (0.1 mm) and a speed of two to four layers per minute match the sister model, as does the VisiJet PXL Core material. The coloured shell is about 0.6 mm thick. The 260C is discontinued and should not be confused with the later CJP 260Plus.

On a used 260C two print heads need checking, and HP57 colour cartridges must be obtainable. Check colour reproduction on a test part, since clogged colour nozzles show immediately. Otherwise the usual points for powder printers apply: clean mechanics and powder paths, the condition of the external recycling unit, and a room at about 13–27 °C with air that is not too dry.
