3D Systems ProJet 1500 — Technical data

The ProJet 1500 is the larger of the two 3D Systems FTI office machines. Like the ProJet 1000 it cures resin with full-area exposure at a native 768 × 1024 dpi, but offers more build volume at 171 × 228 × 203 mm and six material colours: VisiJet FTI in Zoom, Ivory, Grey, Black, Blue and Red. In standard mode it prints 0.1 mm layers at around 12.7 mm of build height per hour; in draft mode with FTI-Zoom material, 0.15 mm and about 20 mm per hour. This allows quick concept and ergonomics models in the office. Washing and curing take place on the removable build platform. The ProJet 1500 is discontinued.

Anyone taking over a ProJet 1500 should first check whether FTI cartridges are still available and in which colours. Then the condition of imaging, platform and mechanics counts, as does the completeness of washing and curing units. A test print in standard and draft mode shows whether the unit works properly. Spare parts are rare, and service is offered at most by specialised dealers.
