3D Systems iPro 9000 XL — Technical data
The iPro 9000 XL is the large-format configuration of the iPro 9000 and was presented in October 2008 as the third model of that range, shipping from the fourth quarter. Instead of two separate resin modules it uses one continuous RDM with a 1500 × 750 × 550 mm build volume and about 935 litres of fill. This produces Accura parts up to roughly 1.5 m long in one piece, without bonding them from segments. As on the iPro 8000 and 9000, imaging uses a 355 nm solid-state laser and the ProScan system. The later ProX 950 offers the same build volume. The XL is discontinued.
A used 9000 XL only pays off if very long parts come up regularly – otherwise the resin fill alone ties up a lot of capital. Check the age and condition of nearly 1000 litres of resin, laser hours, the recoater over its full length and platform flatness. Transport and installation are demanding; clarify the required room climate of 23 ± 3 °C and the floor load capacity in advance. Settle service and laser replacement firmly before buying.
