3D Systems DMP Flex 200 — Technical data
The DMP Flex 200 is 3D Systems' smallest current metal laser powder bed fusion system. A 500 W fibre laser melts powder in a 140 × 140 × 115 mm build volume, with a roller rather than a blade spreading each layer. It is aimed at dental labs, research and makers of small precision parts that need fine details and surfaces down to Ra 5 µm. Approved materials are cobalt-chrome, two titanium alloys and 316L stainless steel; Oqcam software is included for dental work. With a 230 V connection and around 1.4 t it is relatively easy to install. It is regarded as the successor to the DMP Flex 100.
On a used Flex 200, laser hours, the condition of optics, protective glass and filters, and the tightness of the process chamber are decisive. Clarify which material parameters are unlocked and whether 3DXpert licences can be transferred. Operation requires nitrogen or argon and compressed air; handling reactive powders such as titanium calls for suitable safety equipment.
