3D Systems DMP Flex 100 — Technical data
The DMP Flex 100 was the entry model of 3D Systems' DMP metal systems. With a 100 W fibre laser and a 100 × 100 × 90 mm build volume it is designed for small, delicate metal parts with thin walls – for research, application development and production of small series. Approved materials were cobalt-chrome and 17-4PH and 316L stainless steels. The machine runs on 230 V single phase under nitrogen or argon; powder is loaded manually. 3D Systems has replaced the Flex 100 with the larger Flex 200 with a 500 W laser; the old product page is still online.
A used Flex 100 is an inexpensive way into metal printing of small parts, provided laser and optics are in good condition. Before buying, laser hours, filter changes, maintenance logs and unlocked parameters should be documented. Because the model is discontinued, clarify how long 3D Systems will supply spare parts and service and whether PX Control software updates are still available.
